Is an EV surge on the horizon?

Analysis: New Zealand has registered nearly 6500 fewer electric vehicles since the election than pre-election trends would have suggested, a phenomenon analysts lay at the feet of the Government’s decision to remove subsidies for clean cars.
Global market analysis firm BMI Research has revised downward its projections for EV sales in New Zealand this year. It expects a two thirds decline, with just 10,700 battery electrics and plug-in hybrids sold, compared to more than 30,000 last year.
